Testimonials From Residence

"My husband and I recently bought our first house and are so happy with our purchase in Prescott. Previously, we had been living closer to Lake Merritt and the prospect of leaving the old for the unknown new felt overwhelming. But slowly we have found gems here that have made this place feel like home. Raimondi park has been a wonderful community resource as a place to run our dog, catch some soccer games on the weekends, meet neighbors, and grub on some delicious Salvadorian food. 10th and Wood, a local restaurant, serves up great sandwiches and coffee. We are also super close to a quiet, not well known trail head to the new bay bridge trail! Everything is easily accessible--the 580, 880, 980, BART, and downtown Oakland. And our neighbors have been super friendly.  I'm so glad we purchased where we did."

"I bought a dilapidated Victorian in the Prescott about four years ago and have been involved in its ongoing restoration. It's been a labor of love, but I never lost sight of the area's tremendous potential. It is culturally diverse, a major transportation node and maintains a wonderful pedestrian scale. As an architect I enjoy being able to interact with like-minded artists who live in the area.  Most of the new tenants I have seen are young artists, hipsters or urban professionals – all of whom seem quite familiar with the historic significance of the area. There is an influx of people enjoying the outdoors, running, walking their dogs and socializing. West Oakland is returning to its roots as a family neighborhood and I am enjoying being here to witness the transformation."
